lectio libri
a rough latin translation for “reading books”
For the curious, here’s what I’m feeding my mind.
currently chewing through:
- hours of online research and reading on various topics
- Gertude Bell

- The Wisdom of Whores
- Sin in the Second City
- Hello My Big Big Honey
- Blaze
- A Buffalo in the House
- The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill
- Extra Extraordinary Chickens
- How I Got Published
- The Well-Fed Self-Publisher
- Write is a Verb
subscriptions
- Newsweek (weekly)
- The Week (weekly)
- Allure
- Consumer Reports
- Glamour
- Mental Floss (subscription courtesy of my sister)
- .net (store purchase, I let my subscription lapse due to the exchange rate)
- Playboy
- $pread Magazine
- The Writer
- Writer’s Digest
- Birds and Blooms (store purchase)
(This list doesn’t contain all my subscriptions. I used to subscribe to almost 20 magazines but have had to cut back. I look forward to being able to renew the habit, no pun intended.)
I update the list about twice a month. I’m not a slow reader but often I read stuff that I feel is only of interest to me. I try to post things that are more general interest.
My Amazon Wish List can be found to the left under my “Amanda’s Links” category — it’s the “sample of my literary tastes” link. If you’re interested. I have quite an array of books there, probably not what you were expecting to see.
